Website accuses Wal-Mart of union-busting in Las Vegas

The national AFL-CIO said Las Vegas critics of Wal-Mart and its subsidiary Sam's Club have launched a website that "shines a light on Wal-Mart's deceptive anti-union tactics" and supports representation by the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 711.
The website, www.walmartworkerslv.com, includes sections claiming Wal-Mart union busters and their supporters tried to discredit the UFCW and to prevent workers from making informed decisions about union representation.
"They are calling up associates pretending to be a UFCW or other union organizers and then proceed to harass any associate who doesn't show interest in the union," according to the website. "This is a typical Wal-Mart tactic that has been played out in Texas, Arizona and other locations where Wal-Mart stores associates have tried to organize for a voice on the job."
