Editorial: Local organizations generous on holiday
Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000 | 8:27 a.m.
With Thanksgiving upon us, now is a good time to give thanks to the local organizations and companies that are pitching in to help the needy.
The lineup, courtesy of Sun reporter Kristen Peterson, includes but is not limited to the Boulder Dam Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, UNLV students, NOS Communications employees, MASH Temporary Emergency Shelter, City Mission of Las Vegas, MASH Village and the Salvation Army.
Add to that list Gymcats Gymnastics in Henderson, Camping World, HELP of Southern Nevada, Indian Springs Casino, Ronald McDonald House, West Las Vegas Library, American Legion Las Vegas Post 8 and Las Vegas Rescue Mission. They are joined by the Hard Rock hotel-casino, KLUC 98.5-FM, Valley Hospital Medical Center, Marine Corps and United Way of Southern Nevada.
Clark County is fortunate to have these donors give their time and energy. But it is our hope that Southern Nevadans, who have enjoyed a vibrant economy, remain in that giving spirit year round.
