Letter: America has no business in foreign elections
Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000 | 9:43 a.m.
This farcical counting and re-counting of fragile punch ballots to interpret whether hanging, hinged or missed holes reflect the intent of a voter has made a charade of our electoral process.
I had heard of dead people voting and double voting in Chicago and Cook County, Ill., but West Palm Beach, Fla., has them topped. This is ludicrous.
Our political process has become fodder for comedians here and abroad. Perhaps, in the future, we will keep our nose out of other people's business because we cannot keep our elections honest and fair.
