Elizabeth Valder Foyt and John Paul Foyt, both of Las Vegas, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Alicia Anne Foyt of Galveston, Texas, to Alex Graham Strogen, of Houston.

The wedding will be in mid-winter.

The bride-to-be, a 1996 graduate of Chaparral High School, is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M University, Galveston. She is a development coordinator and community liaison for the Galveston Bay Foundation, a science conservancy.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of A. Graham and Linda Strogen, of Arlington, Texas. A graduate of James Martin High School in Arlington, he earned a maritime administration degree from Texas A&M University, Galveston in 1999. He serves as operations manager for MAERSK in Houston.
