America West waves Las Vegas stopover fee
Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000 | 10:44 a.m.
America West Airlines will waive a $60 stopover fee on travel through Las Vegas in a special promotion.
The Phoenix-based airline, which uses McCarran International Airport as a hub for its operations, is offering the promotion on flights between 21 eastern cities and 15 western cities on flights that stop in Las Vegas.
Travelers who take advantage of the deal must book flights by Jan. 15 and can spend up to three days in Las Vegas on the stopover. There are no restrictions on when the free stop can be used.
America West, the second-largest carrier serving McCarran, is the second airline promoting free stopovers. Las Vegas-based National Airlines routinely offers free stopovers on its cross-country flights that stop at McCarran.
