Wyett resigns after short service
Monday, Nov. 20, 2000 | 4:35 a.m.
In a letter to Gov. Kenny Guinn, Wyett said he would leave the $78,000-a-year job on Dec. 15 because of "recent conflicts" and "inappropriate activity" that undermine the board's credibility.
"Tolerating that activity would mean condoning it and I cannot in good conscience remain on the board knowing I do not have the support of your office to halt this behavior," he wrote.
Wyett didn't elaborate in his letter and he didn't immediately return a telephone message left at his home. Officials in the governor's office declined to elaborate.
Wyett retired as administrator of the state Division of Parole and Probation a year ago and came out of retirement to take the Parole Board post.
