Swimming: UNLV men’s team wins in Nebraska

The UNLV men's swimming and diving team edged host Nebraska to win the Husker Shootout team title on Sunday at Lincoln, Neb. The Rebel women's team finished third.
The UNLV men entered the 400-yard freestyle relay, the final event of the meet, tied with Nebraska at 328 points to force a dramatic showdown. The Rebel relay team of Mike Short, Tommy Zauder, Jacint Simon and Piotr Krzyskow won the relay with a time of 3:01.16 to defeat Nebraska's squad of Peter Fry, Anthony Rogis, Scott Schultz and Javior Botello (3:01.43).
UNLV won the Husker Shootout with 344 points, just ahead of Nebraska (340). Washington finished third with a score of 290 points, followed by Kenyon College (270) and Drury (243).
The UNLV women's team tallied 306 points to finish in third place. The Husker women finished first with a team score of 363.
