Letter: Question 2 backers aren’t discriminators
Monday, Nov. 20, 2000 | 11:09 a.m.
Children should not be able to be adopted by same-sex partners. To allow this to happen, except where parents are killed and children are adopted by the next of kin, is to say that one gender is the best gender for raising a child. If women adopt, that is an affront on fatherhood and its vital role. If men adopt, it is an affront on the importance of motherhood in the rearing of a child, not to say that the general population prefers to have children indoctrinated with a bent toward homosexuality by their parents.
Our population has grown by heterosexual relations. Our families have been strongest where headed by responsible mothers and fathers together. Our positive vote declares that we want to keep it that way. If that makes us "Puritans" and subjects of your hate, so be it. We feel sorry for you!
