Letter: Bush conceding would heal U.S.

As far as Dubin and James Baker promoting conceding as the American Way, I never thought conceding anything was the American Way, nor did I think the GOP did -- isn't that why they liked Ike?

The polls said that the public didn't want impeachment, but the Republicans went ahead anyway. Why listen to the public?

Florida is governed by the brother of the most vociferous candidate for president; the NAACP is investigating instances of black voters turned away from the polls there; a Miami policeman states a ballot box was found in a downtown hotel; and the Republicans don't seem to think all the Florida votes should be counted. So why doesn't George W., who only has 246 electoral votes to Gore's 260, just concede Florida for the sake of healing if that's the American Way?
