Racine County Board tables Indian casino proposal

Robert Miller, the board chairman, said the 26-0 vote Tuesday to indefinitely set aside the proposal ends negotiations with the tribe.
The Lac du Flambeau had proposed a casino, hotel and convention center at Interstate-94 and County Trunk K.
Tribal negotiators expressed a greater desire to proceed with another proposed casino at Shullsburg in Lafayette County, Miller said.
"The major factor was that the tribe wanted to move forward and a lot of us on the board had unanswered questions, and there really wasn't a lot of time for more research," Miller said.
