Casino giant MGM MIRAGE of Las Vegas announced today it's developing an electronic marketplace that will aggregate the company's procurement spending systems and connect its 18 casino properties to more than 30,000 businesses worldwide.
The MGM MIRAGE marketplace will be powered by PurchasePro, a Las Vegas business-to-business Internet commerce provider.
MGM MIRAGE said its marketplace will also extend the company's diversity reach, enhancing accessibility to minority and women-owned businesses. MGM MIRAGE marketplace members will connect to a network of more than 7,000 national women and minority-owned businesses, the casino operator said.
"MGM MIRAGE has made a commitment to buy from women and minority-owned businesses nationwide," said Rick Jones, vice president of purchasing for MGM MIRAGE.
