AARP to host 55 Alive class
The American Association of Retired Persons is sponsoring 55 Alive driving workshops 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway, Henderson.
The course also will be offered 1-5 p.m. Monday and Nov. 21 at Valley Hospital Medical Center, 620 Shadow Lane.
The two-part workshop is open to mature drivers (ages 55 or more) for $10 per person, payable to AARP at class.
Seniors successfully completing the workshop may get discounts on their auto insurance. For information on the Henderson seminar, call 435-3814. For information on the Valley Hospital session, call 388-4665.
Annual holiday party on Dec. 15
Senior Friends' annual holiday "Champagne Wishes and Senior Friends Dreams" party will be held 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in the ballroom of the Stardust hotel to celebrate the year gone by with both old and new friends.
Reservations are required, and there is a discount for early RSVPs. Ticket prices for Senior Friends members are $15 and for nonmembers $25 by Nov. 20 and $18 for members and $28 for nonmembers by Dec. 8.

Senior stress
Seniors will hear how holiday stress affects people and will see a demonstration of stress reduction techniques 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Carefree Senior Living, 3925 S. Jones Blvd. Call 388-4665.
Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 15 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, Nov. 15-21:
DISTRICT HEALTH CENTER: 625 Shadow Lane, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
NORTH LAS VEGAS FAMILY HEALTH CENTER: 2225 Civic Center Drive, Suite 240C, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
FAMILY TO FAMILY: No. 12, 1313 E. Karen Ave., 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday.
EOB NORTH LAS VEGAS WIC: 5A E. Tonopah Ave., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Wednesday.
GREEN VALLEY CLINIC: Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3:30 p.m. Friday.
FAMILY TO FAMILY CLINIC: 2125-C E. Lake Mead Blvd. (College Park Plaza), 12:30-3:30 p.m. Friday.
CHEYENNE I-3 CLINIC: Centers for Healthy Families, 3266 Las Vegas Blvd. North, No. 12, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Friday.
DESERT BREEZE CLINIC: 8275 Spring Mountain Road, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 S. Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
RAINBOW LIBRARY: 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday.
CAMBRIDGE COMMUNITY OUTREACH CENTER CLINIC: 3827 S. Maryland Parkway, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Nov. 21.
