StumbleMarriott to build hotel in Tahoe

Plans call for the hotel and an intermodal transit center to be built on the sites of the Lake Tahoe Inn and Red Carpet Inn beginning in spring 2001.
"This pulls the trigger on proceeding with development this spring," said City Manager David Childs.
Marriott will loan the city $3 million for purchase of the Lake Tahoe Inn and Red Carpet Inn sites.
Redevelopment officials said the property might have to be taken by eminent domain.
The intermodal transit center will combine casino shuttle services as well as public buses and trolleys under one roof.
