Letter: Life is a gift: Don’t legalize euthanasia
Monday, Nov. 13, 2000 | 10:08 a.m.
Precious lives must be preserved. Life is a gift. Life depends on what you make of it. How are euthanasia and physician-assisted suicides going to solve anything? I have learned through church and my daily life that I must live life to the fullest during every waking moment. No one ever knows when they will die. I believe people should make the best of their lives no matter how bad a situation can get.
Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide facts and opinions should be known to everyone because they violate medical ethics. Death is never the answer, and precious lives must be preserved. Everyone should know that choosing death, as a way out of life's tribulations, is not the answer. Life is filled with memories and precious moments. Why would anyone ever want to crush it and attempt to throw that all away?
