A Las Vegas real estate brokerage sued to stop its former vice president and his new employer from allegedly disrupting its business by spreading false rumors that the company is listed for sale.
In a Clark County District Court lawsuit, Americor Realty Inc. sued Philip Claire and P&G Realty Unlimited, alleging many of Americor's agents have left the company in the past few weeks because the defendants' alleged rumors spurred concerns over Americor's viability.
Paul Gaudet, Americor's attorney, who said the company has taken no action to list itself for sale, said such rumors have caused eight agents to leave and also "diminished the number of potential new agents the company would have had."
The defendants could not be reached for comment on the allegations.
