Sport: Basketball
Currently: The 6-7 Bayless started the Wolf Pack's exhibition opener against Global Sports Friday night, pulling down five rebounds, and is expected to compete for considerable playing time for UNR this season. Last year, Bayless saw action in 20 contests, scoring 40 points and grabbing 27 rebounds in a reserve role. After another exhibition contest, the Wolf Pack opens its regular season at San Francisco Nov. 18.
Looking back: A three-year varsity starter for the Sundevils, Bayless was named the Sun's first team All-State center after a senior year that saw him average 23 points and eight rebounds. His father, Kenny, is a well known Las Vegas boxing referee.
