Logo Athletic Inc. of Indianapolis, the nation's largest maker of licensed sports clothing, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware on Monday.
But the company's production operation in Las Vegas is still open and no layoffs are planned for the 150 workers at the plant, said Eddie White, Logo's spokesman. The company also has plants in Indiana and Massachusetts.
White said the industry has been hit hard in recent years as styles shifted from team jerseys and jackets to designer clothing.
Logo Athletic makes clothing and head gear licensed by Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League, as well as major college teams and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
