James Kevin Carmichael
James Kevin Carmichael, 51, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 20, 1949, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 21 years, he was a window cleaner, a Vietnam War Army veteran who received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star and was a member of Teamsters Local 995.
He is survived by his parents, Florence and James V. Carmichael, and one sister, Mary Gotchy, all of Las Vegas.
Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
Robert T. Close
Robert T. Close, 74, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born April 4, 1926, in St. Joseph, Mo. A resident for 17 years, he was a concrete business owner.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Roby Clubine of Flagstone, Mo., and Ruth Lamp of Pahrump; and one sister, Dorothy Engstrom of Fountain Valley, Calif.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be private.
Arnold Bentley Corderman
Arnold Bentley Corderman, 76, of Las Vegas died Oct. 24 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Ohio. A resident for 11 years, he was a commercial pilot, a Navy pilot, a member of the Elks in Florida and the Pilot Association.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tim Corderman.
He is survived by his wife, Margarett; two sons, Gary Corderman of Quincy, Calif., and Dennis Corderman of Cocoa, Fla.; one daughter, Heidi Ryan of Las Vegas; and one granddaughter.
Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Angelina Crescini
Angelina Crescini, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 1, 1911, in New York City. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker.
He is survived by one son, Richard A. Crescini of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Harriette Dal-Canton
Harriette Dal-Canton, 75, of Las Vegas died Nov. 1 in a local hospital. She was born April 7, 1925, in Gary, Ind. A resident for 31 years, she was a licensed practical nurse for 20 years, secretary of the Patients Advocate Council at Desert Lane Care Center and a member of the nursing staff at University Medical Center and the Ladies Relief Society of the LDS Church.
She is survived by one son, A.T. Coletta, and one daughter, Michelle Ames, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. Thursday in LDS San Miguel Ward chapel, 3200 Mustang St. Nevada Funeral Service, 725 S. Casino Center Blvd., Suite 208, is handling arrangements.
James Gilbert Dale
James Gilbert Dale, 61, of Las Vegas died Oct. 27 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 1, 1938, in Detroit. A resident for seven years, he was a government contractor/plant manager.
He is survived by two sons, Jack Dale and Jim Dale, and his mother, Lillian Grant, all of Las Vegas.
Graveside services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Joel K. Evans
Joel K. Evans, 66, died Monday. He was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired haberdasher, an active member of the Kennel Society and was a professional dog trainer.
He is survived by two brothers, Dr. Sy Evans of Rye Brook, N.Y., and Dr. Sheldon Evans of Houston.
Graveside services are scheduled 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, Northwest, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
The family suggests donations to the donor's favorite charity in his memory.
Carmen E. Fernandez
Carmen E. Fernandez, 83, of Las Vegas died Oct. 31 in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 5, 1917 in Panama. A resident for three years, she was a retired owner of a retail business.
She is survived by four daughters, Ruth Chichaco of Las Vegas, Jean Capurro of Torrance, Calif., Shirley Goodrum of Grass Valley, Calif., and Carmen Sobieraj of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; one son, Leonidas Garcia of Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Clara Garcia of the Philippines; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Gordon Albert Grimmis
Gordon Albert Grimmis, 59, of Las Vegas died Friday in Ely. He was born April 27, 1941, in California. A resident for 29 years, he was a body shop manager for Warthen Buick, an Army veteran, a member of Wildlife Habitat, NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk and Safari Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; three daughters, Deborah Patrias, Wendy Tomlinson and Dawn Hardy, all of Las Vegas; one brother, William Grimmis of Montana; one sister, Carolyn Bassoniti of Washington; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour prior to a 7 p.m. rosary today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Gary Dean Johnson
Gary Dean Johnson, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Las Vegas. A resident for 48 years, he was a retired casino supervisor and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Geri; one daughter, Jill Tietjen, one son, Jeffrey P. Johnson, and his father, Raymond P. Johnson, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Jeffrey D. Johnson of Gilbert, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Jones.
David A. Kairott
David A. Kairott, 47, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1952, in Hartford, Conn. A resident for three years, he was an office equipment repair technician.
He is survived by one brother, Donald Kairott of San Francisco; and his fiancee, Donna Gornick of Las Vegas.

Clayton M. Kerr
Clayton M. Kerr, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Canton, N.Y. A resident for 29 years, he was a retired truck driver, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion and a former member of Southern Nevada REACT.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian A.; two daughters, Crystal D. Kerr and Laura L. Downey, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne.

Kenneth Kerr, 81, died Monday in a local care center. He was born Aug. 25, 1919, in Canada. He was a civil engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Clarita; two sons, James Kerr and David Kerr, and two daughters, Della Kerr and Jenny Kerr, all of North Las Vegas.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. services Thursday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.
Reed Lem
Reed Lem, 55, of Las Vegas died Oct. 11 in Las Vegas. A longtime resident, he was born July 8, 1945.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Conchita A. Manabal
Conchita A. Manabal, 86, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born April 6, 1914, in the Philippines. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by four daughters, Vida Ching of Las Vegas and Ligaya Balgos, Ellen Manabal and Alice Talatala, all of the Philippines; and two sons, Bernie Manabal and Chris Manabal, both of the Philippines.
Private services will be in Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Paul Merchasin
Paul Merchasin, 55, of Las Vegas died Oct. 31 in Houston. A resident for 21 years, he was a job training counselor for the city of Las Vegas and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Judy.

James Merrill
James Merrill, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Phoenix. A resident for five years, he was a schoolteacher, Navy veteran, coached baseball, basketball and football for 30 years and was a starter and marshal at Paiute Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; two sons, Verne Merrill and Jason Merrill, and two stepsons, Gary Lewis and Donny Myers, all of California; three brothers, Clayton Merrill, Duke Merrill and Kimball Merrill; four sisters, Merriam Ramos, Shirley Layton, Sylvia Lewis and Joyce Merrill; and 11 grandchildren.
Services are scheduled 1 p.m. Friday in Newbury Park High School in Newbury, Calif.

Eva 'Colleen' Monaco
Eva "Colleen" Monaco, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 16, 1931, in Cordon, Iowa. A resident for five weeks, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Gayle Kriske and Becky Monaco-DeMarre, both of Las Vegas; one son, Shawn Monaco of Yuba City, Calif.; three brothers, Clyde VanPelt of Iowa, Don VanPelt of California and Dennis VanPelt of Ohio; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Friday in Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Iowa. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Mildred M. O'Hara
Mildred M. O'Hara, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 6, 1917, in Cudiz, Ky. A resident for 31 years, she was a retired waitress.
She is survived by one daughter, Nanette Wetkowski of Las Vegas; one son, Bobby O'Hara of Wyoming; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled 2 p.m. Thursday in Paradise Memorial Gardens. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.
Mary Ortega
Mary Ortega, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born April 27, 1923, in San Antonio. A resident for two months, she was a department store cook.
She is survived by one daughter, Rose Jaramillo, and one son, Santiago Jaramillo, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Helen Russo
Helen Russo, 84, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born May 6, 1916, in Steubenville, Ohio. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Stuckey of Youngstown, Ohio; two sons, Darryl Russo of Apex, N.C., and Art Russo of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

Ralph Lee Sasser
Ralph Lee Sasser, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 22, 1923, in North Carolina. A resident for 10 years, he was an electronics engineer for 13 years and a World War II and Korean War veteran serving 20 years in the Army
He is survived by his wife, Delaney; three sons, Ronnie Lee Sasser and Louis Sasser, both of Las Vegas and Wayne Sasser of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two daughters, Patricia Morgan of Mesa, Ariz., and Nancy Kay Kadolph of Moreno Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Herbert Sasser of Elizabethtown, N.C. and Robert Hardwig of Whiteville, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Kate Sasser of Whiteville and Ora Lee Hardwig of Tabor City, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Nevada Funeral Service, 725 S. Casino Center Blvd., Suite 208, followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Harold Schwartz, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born May 31, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a retired U.S. Postal Service supervisor and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; one son, Leslie Harold Schwartz of Grants Pass, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Loretta Cravens of Loomis, Calif., and Carole Sandra Rudd of Littleton, Colo.; one brother, Samuel Schwartz of Kelowna British Columbia; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled 10 a.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

James M. Scullion, 43, of Las Vegas died Oct. 24 in Las Vegas. A yardman for a plumbing and electrical firm and an Army veteran, he was born Sept. 29, 1957, in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
He is survived by one son, James M. Scullion Jr. of Las Vegas; three brothers, Michael Scullion of Las Vegas and Charles Blake and Joe Scullion, both of New York; and three sisters, Ann Marie Blake of Florida and Charlene Blake and Linda Scullion, both of New York.

Robert Henry 'Happy Bob' Simester
Robert Henry "Happy Bob" Simester, 67, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 13, 1933, in Chicago. A resident for five years, he was a food salesman, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Elks, Masons and the Eiche Turner Association.
He is survived by three sons, Steven Simester and Robert Simester, both of California, and Brian Simester of Illinois; one brother, Richard Simester, and one sister, Carole Norville, both of Illinois; and six grandchildren.

Maurice R. Wright
Maurice R. Wright, 63, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1937, in Richmond, Va. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired Army sergeant first class and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Binnie; one stepdaughter, Pamela Lewis of Indianapolis; three stepsons, Wendall Smith of Chicago, Edgar H. Smyth of Las Vegas and Darryl S. Smith of Fairfield, Calif.; three sisters, Alice Williams of Atlanta, Dorothy Taylor of Richmond and Carry Wright of Petersburg, Va.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is private. Graveside services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.
