Letter: Millions wasted on nonsense of political ads
Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 | 9:12 a.m.
Today is Election Day. How many millions of dollars have been spent on useless rhetoric?
For the millions of dollars wasted on election nonsense for TV commercials, half of the hungry people in the world could have been fed. Instead the voters are fed up.
Perhaps the time has come to limit the political garbage to one or two commercials. If they can't say it in five minutes it isn't worth saying. Just "read my lips" tells it all.
