Letter: Give Bush, Gore lie detector tests
Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000 | 3:20 a.m.
When speaking on camera, Al Gore and George Bush are always acting. Nothing natural about either man. Their speeches are written for them. Their dress rehearsals are analyzed and corrected before they go on live. I wonder if anyone checks their acts for being truthfully sincere? I doubt it.
If, while speaking live, the candidates were hooked up to lie detectors, with the results of truths and lies shown on screen, we might expect candor, integrity and nothing but the truth. We might.
