Currently: Townsend has started all eight Sun Devils games this season at defensive tackle, making 12 tackles, including seven unassisted stops and one for a loss. The 6-3, 277-pounder has also forced one fumble and recovered another for 5-3 ASU, which hosts Southern California this Saturday. Townsend transferred to ASU from USC after his freshman year.
Looking back: A varsity letter winner in football and track, Townsend earned All-Southern Zone honors as a junior and senior. After a junior year that saw him rack up 75 tackles and 7.5 sacks, the Bengals' star finished his senior season with 68 tackles and 11 sacks.
