Authorities are investigating an accident that killed a Hurst, Texas, couple on Interstate 15 near Jean when their car slammed into the back of a tractor trailer.
Nevada Highway Patrol troopers say the driver, Raymond Borman, 60, and his wife Marline, 56, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The big rig had been parked along the freeway's southbound breakdown lane. It was merging back into the travel lane when the Bormans rear-ended it about 8 p.m. Monday, troopers said.
The car slid under the trailer of the 18-wheeler.
The accident occurred about 12 miles north of the California border.
