Sports book director out

Gene Kivi, director of the Mandalay Bay race and sports book, has resigned, casino officials said.
Gordon Absher, spokesman for Mandalay Bay, said Kivi resigned recently to pursue other interests. Replacing Kivi is Nick Bagdonovich, formerly race and sports book director at the Stratosphere.
The reasons for Kivi's sudden resignation are not known.
In a recent lawsuit against Mandalay Bay, local resident Albert Ciaglia claimed Kivi told him that the casino had a "special relationship" with local resident Bill Dolin, information Ciaglia said he relied on to set up a partnership with Dolin to wager on horses.
Ciaglia later sued, claiming Dolin never contributed money to this partnership; Kivi was not named as a defendant and Dolin has denied wrongdoing.
Kivi could not be reached for comment.
