Letter: Marijuana legalization not good move

This Senate report also contained a suicide note from a kid who was hooked on marijuana.
The suicide note said, "Warn Andy and the girls about this. Love, David."
Marijuana cigarettes are not necessary for cancer patients in Nevada. Just the carbon monoxide in marijuana smoke destroys the ability of the blood to get oxygen to the body's tissues.
This de-oxygenation helps cancer cells that thrive without oxygen and hurts normal cells that need oxygen to live.
Legalization of marijuana is particularly foolish in Nevada where we have already legalized laetrile -- a natural substance that nourishes normal cells and kills cancer cells. It also kills cancer pain.
Marijuana is not needed for cancer pain and its legalization will make it available throughout the state.
Amending our constitution by passing Question 9 is a blunder that will take years to correct, which will cost more young lives like David's.
