Peter Benton's golf column appears Wednesday.
Steve Adelson, a longtime executive of Intrawest, the leading developer and operator of village-centered resorts in North America, has been appointed vice president of The Village of MonteLago at Lake Las Vegas, which is slated to be built adjacent to the Reflection Bay golf course.
This expansive $500 million resort-orientated village will be located within the 2,245-acre Lake Las Vegas master plan in Henderson.
The Village of MonteLago will include approximately 820 condominiums and townhouses, 125,000 square feet of retail space and 50,000 square feet of office space.
Additionally, the Village will include a 350-room Ritz Carlton hotel, a 40,000-square foot European-style casino, a 30,000-square foot spa and approximately 80 luxury partial-ownership condominiums which will be operated by the Ritz Club.
Neil Radermacher, with 47 points, won the second flight over Larry Morgan, who had 42. Al Cibulski and Terry Kirk tied for third with 40.
Chris Halford won the third flight with 43 points. He was followed by Chuck Larson and Walt Hemelstrand with 39.
Jimmy Bell and Gerry Hurley shared fourth flight honors, both men coming in with 37 points. Al Oleson with 35 placed third.
He joins Chi Chi Rodriguez (1986-88 Digital Seniors Classic); Bob Charles (1987-89 Sunwest Bank/Charley Pride Classic); George Archer (1990-92 Northville Long Island Classic) and Hale Irwin (1996-98 PGA Seniors Championship).
This event features World Golf Hall of Fame members from the LPGA and Senior PGA Tours.
Thomson, the winner of five British Opens, three Australian Opens and nine New Zealand Opens (as well as victories in 11 other countries), was inducted in 1988.
The tournament will be played Nov. 20-22 at The Slammer and The Squire course at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla. The purse is $1 million and the winning team will split $200,000.
In addition to Thomson, eight other players have committed. They are: Amy Alcott, Pat Bradley, JoAnne Carner, Beth Daniel, Roberto De Vincenzo, Johnny Miller, Chi Chi Rodriquez and Patty Sheehan.
