Panel recommends provisional accreditation for law school

An American Bar Association committee has recommended provisional accreditation for UNLV's Boyd Law School.
Dean Richard Morgan said he is optimistic the school will earn the endorsement from the full American Bar Association later this summer.
"It's a significant step," Morgan said. "Getting the recommendation letter is the hardest thing to do. It's the hurdle that a lot of schools don't get over."
A final determination on the provisional standing is expected in July.
Provisional accreditation would allow the school's lawyers-in-training to sit for bar exams and become licensed attorneys anywhere in the country following graduation.
The school would then have three to five years to receive full accreditation.
