Father arrested after baby found in water-filled bathtub

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and paramedics responded to the Oasis Vinings apartments Sunday after the girl's mother returned home to find her daughter's lifeless body in the bathtub.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Todd Rosenberg declined to talk about the cause of death and said he was not ready to call the death a drowning.

"This portion of the investigation has shown us that the father should be arrested for child neglect," Rosenberg said after the father was taken away in a patrol car.

Rosenberg declined to release the names of the parents and the child. He said the mother was 26 and the father was 24.
