The city of Las Vegas has plucked an administrator from neighboring Henderson to head strategic planning and special projects.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Fretwell, current intergovernmental relations director for Henderson, will become an assistant city manager in Las Vegas beginning June 26.
Fretwell will make $98,500 annually.
Las Vegas City Manager Virginia Valentine said Fretwell will help develop business plans for city departments and work with council liaisons.
Prior to her work in Henderson, Fretwell worked for Clark County in a number of capacities, including lobbying. She earned a master of public administration degree in 1991 and a bachelor's degree in 1989, both from the University of Georgia.
