US Airways in Las Vegas

United Airlines' proposed acquisition of US Airways isn't expected to have a big impact on operations in Las Vegas because US Airways is such a small player at McCarran International Airport.
US Airways offers five round-trip flights a day to Las Vegas, two each from Charlotte, N.C., and Pittsburgh and one a day from Philadelphia.
United Airlines has 39 round-trip flights a day to Las Vegas from such markets as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and suburban Washington's Dulles International Airport.
United had 839,853 passengers in Las Vegas in the first quarter of 2000 while US Airways had 97,544 passengers during that time. Even with the addition of all of US Airways customers, United would remain the No. 3 carrier in Las Vegas behind Southwest and America West.
