A 36-year-old Las Vegas man accused of causing the death of a friend in a drunken-driving accident was sentenced Tuesday to 16 years in prison.
Darrell Eric Langton will not be eligible for parole until he serves at least three years of his sentence, said Deputy District Attorney Bruce Nelson.
According to police, Langton was driving west on Alexander Road at a high rate of speed when his Chevrolet Corvette went out of control and rolled over in a desert area near Jensen Street in October 1998.
The car rolled several times, landing on 32-year-old Dianna C. Anderson, who was partially ejected from the car. Langton was found wandering about 150 yards from the accident.
Blood tests showed Langton had a blood alcohol content of 0.20 and 0.18, Nelson said.
