StumbleReno pays tribute to fallen officers

The officers' names were added to the James D. Hoff Peace Officers Memorial during the 13th annual ceremony Friday at Idlewild Park.
Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Paul Wheeler remembered Officer Charles Simon III, who died six months ago while directing traffic during an evacuation at Nellis Air Force Base prompted by a suspicious device at the main gate.
Simons was rerouting traffic through other exits when he was struck and killed by an inattentive motorist.
"He placed service before self," Wheeler said.
