Art contest, cookbook planned
The Southern Nevada Alzheimer's Association is seeking participants for an art contest and cookbook project that coincide with the 2000 Memory Walk to be held in October.
The art contest, focusing on water color, oil or acrylic paintings, is open to all Alzheimer's patients. The paintings should be on a 14-by-14-inch black canvas. The chapter will provide supplies to those who do not have any.
The cookbook entries are open to families, loved ones and caregivers who wish to submit recipes of a person they know who suffered or suffers from Alzheimer's. The recipes will be published along with pictures and biographies of the patient.
The cookbooks will be sold during the walk and at other community events.
The deadline for entries is June 15. For more information, call 248-2770.
