Cunningham dribbled down the left wing in the 10th minute, beat two defenders, and passed to Dante Washington, who scored his seventh goal of the season.
Sixteen minutes into the second half, Cunningham found Brian West, who shot past Burn goalkeeper Matt Jordan to make it 2-0.
Dallas (4-5-1) scored 10 minutes later on Jason Kreis' diving header, set up by passes from Jorge Rodriguez and Sergi Daniv.
The Crew improved to 4-6-1.
