John R. Born Sr.
John R. Born Sr., 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 24, 1929, in Ardmore, Okla. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired mechanical engineer with a manufacturing firm.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Lee; one daughter, Deborah MacWilliams of Ocala, Fla.; one son, John R. Born Jr. of Highland Park, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Truman Merlin Brackenbury
Truman Merlin Brackenbury, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Twin Falls, Idaho. A resident for 50 years, he was a carpenter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Carpenters Local 1780.
He is survived by four sons, John Brackenbury and Jerry Rienks, both of Eureka, Calif., Jack Rienks of Gilchrist, Ore., and Terry Childs of Salt Lake City; five daughters, Judy Jordan, Joanne Podloger, Patricia Childs and Sharon Childs, all of Las Vegas, and Peggy Shippey of Ogden, Utah; one sister, Thelma Griffith of Yakima, Wash.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in California. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Robert H. Harris
Robert H. Harris, 68, of Henderson, died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Independence, Mo. A resident for 13 years, he was a supervisor for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lulu; one daughter, Muriel E. Blackburn of Henderson; one son, Robert Harris Jr. of Newark, Del.; two brothers, Donzelle Harris of Palmdale, Calif., and Samuel Harris of Independence; one sister, Aurelia Johnson of Los Angeles; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Doris Mae Hayton-Martin
Doris Mae Hayton-Martin, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local convalescent hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1924, in St. Louis. A resident for 16 years, she was retired, was a homemaker and a member of Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2967 in Wilmington, Calif.
She is survived by one son, Jack Webb, two daughters, Linda Reitan and Sandra Dora, and one sister, Patricia Davis, all of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119, or the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Henry Johnson
Henry Johnson, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Providence, R.I. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a carpet cleaning business and an avid bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah J.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Sunday in the Church of Religious Science, 5317 Smoke Ranch Road.
Edward S. Kissel
Edward S. Kissel, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 10, 1925, in Endicott, N.Y. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired bricklayer, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; and one sister, Martha Sterner of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Jean Nancy Longo
Jean Nancy Longo, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 21, 1945, in Rhode Island. A resident for three years, she was an airport gift shop sales clerk.
She is survived by her companion, Richard Ansaldi of Nevada; one son, Henry Longo, one daughter, Lisa Longo, and one brother, Henry Tameleo, all of Rhode Island.
A Mass will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Rhode Island. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Glywin R. McJennett Jr.
Glywin R. McJennett Jr., 70, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born April 20, 1930, in Detroit. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired tool and die maker for a hardware firm and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Cheryl Monat of Lisbon Falls, Maine, and Barbara Dallmeyer of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; four sons, Glenn McJennett of Highland, Calif., Glywin R. McJennett III and Richard McJennett, both of Las Vegas, and Douglas McJennett of Henderson; one sister, Maxine Strohm of Taylor, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Larry Allen Parker
Larry Allen Parker, 55, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1944, in Henderson. A lifelong resident, he was a hotel porter and a Vietnam War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; one daughter, Toya Talley of Inglewood, Calif.; two sons, Larry Parker Jr. of Los Angeles and Michael Parker of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Holmes of Dallas and Ann Evans of Scagoville, Texas; one stepson, Zachery Holmes of Dallas; his mother, Alice Parker of Inglewood, Calif.; six sisters, Glorice Burnett and Linda McCrary, both of Los Angeles, Carolyn Oubre of Palmdale, Calif., Alice King of Las Vegas, Betty Evans of Inglewood, Calif., and Marjorie Bush of Riverside, Calif.; and two brothers, Harry Parker of Loma Linda, Calif., and Michael Parker of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Goldye Perlove
Goldye Perlove, 86, of Tarzana, Calif., died Sunday in Los Angeles. She was born April 8, 1914, in Chicago. A former Las Vegas resident for many years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Enid Raich of Tarzana; two sisters, Edith Miller of Chicago and Sherlene Kuner of Las Vegas; one brother, Warren Bill France of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.

Mayra Pina, 13, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 17, 1986, in Nevada. A resident for many years, she was a student.
She is survived by her parents, Benny and Martha Pina, and three brothers, Benny Pina, Daniel Pina and Anthony, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today with a 5:30 p.m. rosary in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Hites Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Robert Poff
Robert Poff, 78, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local health care center. He was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired metal products salesman, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Boulder City Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons, Robert Poff of Port Townsend, Wash., and Gary Poff of Albany, Ore.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2:15 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Edward T. Saloom
Edward T. Saloom, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Farrell, Pa. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired floorman/dealer and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his mother, Asma Saloom of Masury, Ohio; and two brothers, Emil Saloom of Youngstown, Ohio, and Louis Saloom of Masury.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Pennsylvania. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Grace A. Schindler
Grace A. Schindler, 83, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 23, 1917, in Carrick, Pa. A resident for 4 1/2 years, she was a retired elementary school teacher.
She is survived by her husband, David B.; one daughter, Carol S. Kummer of Las Vegas; one son, Robert B. Schindler of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Lillian Hasenkopt of Saegerstown, Pa.; one brother, Milton G. Augenstene of Washington, Pa.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be private. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Flavio M. Sevilla, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1927, in the Philippines. A resident for four years, he was a teacher and a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Avelina; one son, Ricardo Sevilla, seven daughters, Evangelina Medina, Erlinda Inamarga, Yolanda Rodil, Mercedita Lansangan, Gracita Salvador, Corazon Sevilla and Emerita Yambao, two brothers, Rodrigo Sevilla and Oscar Sevilla, and two sisters, Lilia Batangbakal and Aurora Acantilado, all of the Philippines.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Monday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.
Penny Wakefield
Penny Wakefield, 60, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 17, 1939, in Downey, Calif. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired retail merchant at amusement park booths including the Excalibur hotel-casino for 12 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Kellie Stevens of Houston and Kristen Aldrice of San Clemente, Calif.; one son, David DeLaRosa of Los Angeles; her parents, Lela and Robert Geiser, and one sister, Wendy Geiser, all of Costa Mesa, Calif.; one brother, Tim Geiser of San Mateo, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in California. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Eleanor E. Walker
Eleanor E. Walker, 78, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 51 years, she was a retired Gordon McCaw Elementary School teacher, a member of Delta Kampa Gamma for 46 years and treasurer of Epsilon Chapter in 1955.
She is survived by her husband, Charles G.; one son, Dennis Walker, and one sister, Edna Hook, both of Henderson.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pine Valley Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
