Betty Andrews

Betty Andrews, 54, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Culver City, Calif. A resident for two years, she was a waitress for 35 years.

She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Andrews of Las Vegas and Jennifer Andrews of Washington state; her parents, Ron and Virginia Yarber; one sister, Christine Collinsworth of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Michael McCabe and Mark McCabe, both of Alaska, and John William McCabe of Arizona.

The family is arranging a quiet family service at home. Valley Memorial Crematory, 745 W. Sunset Road, No. 16, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Julius Alexander Azzari

Julius Alexander Azzari, 6 days, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 10, 2000, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his father, Jose Azzari, one sister, Alexis Azzari, and his grandparents, Milton Sr. and Carmen Wade, all of Las Vegas; and his great-grandmother, Maria Lopez.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary chapel, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Dean K. Bracken

Dean K. Bracken, 67, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 31, 1932, in St. George, Utah. A resident for 46 years, he retired as a foreman for Stauffer Chemical Co. after 22 years, was a Korean War Army veteran, a member of the Moose and Eagles.

He is survived by three daughters, Deanna Bracken, Dawn Bracken and Joan Bracken, and two sons, Dean Bracken Jr. and Scott Bracken, all of Henderson; two sisters, Toni Carter of Henderson and Anna Tungate of Stockton, Calif.; three brothers, Leslie Bracken of Tonopah and Calvin Bracken and Dale Bracken, both of Henderson; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Friday in the Desert Rose LDS Chapel, Desert Rose Drive and Pacific Avenue, Henderson. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Central Cemetery, Central, Utah. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Karl 'Charlie' Bracknies

Karl "Charlie" Bracknies, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1912, in Berlin. A resident for 33 years, he was a hotel maitre d' and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Noel Clark Brittain

Noel Clark Brittain, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 1, 1931, in Wisconsin. A resident for five years, he was a general manager in the electronics field and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Elroy Brittain.

Wilma I. Burford

Wilma I. Burford, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 11, 1911, in Franklin, Texas. A resident for four years, she was a receptionist for the Pasadena (Texas) Police Department.

She is survived by one son, James Burford of Las Vegas; two brothers, L.B. Burch of LaPort, Texas, and Ellis Burch of Stafford, Texas; two sisters, Faye Pack and Freddie Keys, both of Houston; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

No local services are scheduled. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Tracy T. Carter

Tracy T. Carter, 33, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born March 25, 1967, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a private security officer.

He is survived by his fiancee, Hollie Pope, his mother, Estelle Carter, his father, Cleavon Butler, and one brother, Ronnie Carter, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1165 Lawry Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Henry Chris Crockett

Henry Chris Crockett, 48, of Fair Oaks, Calif., died Friday in Fair Oaks. He was born Sept. 12, 1951, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident of Las Vegas, he was a musician, a Valley High School graduate, a member of the Las Vegas Youth Band, an Eagle Scout and a graduate of University of Nevada, Reno.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Crockett of Las Vegas; two sisters, Caty Crockett Jones of Las Vegas and Darla Corso of Union City, Calif.; and one brother, Mac Crockett of San Mateo, Calif.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Steven J. Custer

Steven J. Custer, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1916, in Cove, Ore. A resident for 42 years, he was an electrician and former commander of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; two sons, Steve Custer of Las Vegas and Richard Custer of Winnemucca; one daughter, Linda Jones of Las Vegas; one sister, Ruth Cox of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. services Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Daniel Emery 'Uncle' Davis

Daniel Emery "Uncle" Davis, 85, of Las Vegas died April 27 in a local hospital. He was born March 4, 1915, in Oklahoma. A resident for 35 years, he was an Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Baxter; and one sister, Mamie.

Pilaloha Fragoso

Pilaloha Fragoso, 10 days, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 30, 2000, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her father, Pedro; her mother, Tracey; seven brothers, Pedro Jr., Pablo, Patrick, Philip, Preston, Princeton and Presley; and two sisters, Puakenekene and Piilani.

Yonatan Gaspar

Yonatan Gaspar, 6, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1994, in Mexico. A resident for two years, he was a student.

He is survived by his parents, Juan and Angelica Gaspar, and two brothers, Juan Gaspar Jr., and Hector Gaspar, all of North Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Thursday with a 6 p.m. rosary in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

James Burton Hendren

James Burton Hendren, 59, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 15, 1940, in Indiana. A resident for 30 years, he was a casino floorman.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammy K. Price of Mesa, Ariz.; and one brother, George Hendron of Indianapolis.

L. Gail Lundgren

L. Gail Lundgren, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 21, 1940, in New York. A resident for 37 years, she was an accountant for a direct mail service.

She is survived by one son, Derek Lundgren, and her mother, Mary Newsham, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Lois Crow of Reno; and two brothers, Gary Newsham of Logandale and Reid Newsham of Las Vegas.

Rose D. Mastracco

Rose D. Mastracco, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 1, 1924, in New York. A resident for many years, she was a factory worker.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony.

Janie McNevin

Janie McNevin, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 31, 1924, in Houston. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker, a World War II Coast Guard veteran and a member of American Merchant Marine Veterans.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; four daughters, Vicki Ryan, Dolores Bennett and Earlene Milko, all of Las Vegas, and Gloria Lewton of Portland, Ore.; one son, Travis McNevin of Las Vegas; two sisters, Helen Shephard and Dootsie Richardson, both of Texas; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Maude 'Cookie' Miller

Maude "Cookie" Miller, 97, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local convalescent hospital. She was born Dec. 13, 1902, in Adams County, Miss. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Anderson of El Cerrito, Calif., and Dolores Pelham of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Harlan J. Murray

Harlan J. Murray, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Jackson, Mich. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired finance manager, a World War II and Korean War Marine Corps veteran, a member of the First Marine Division-Las Vegas chapter, Elks in Downey, Calif., and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Gordon "Scott" Murray of Las Vegas and James C. Murray of Mystic, Conn.; one brother, Gordon Murray of San Diego; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in All Saints Episcopal Church, 4201 W. Washington Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Suzanne T. Oppelt

Suzanne T. Oppelt, 64, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospice. She was born June 7, 1935, in St. Louis. A resident for five years, she was a retired retail clerk.

She is survived by four daughters, Tami Baringer of Palos Verdes, Calif., Teri Oppelt of Encino, Calif., Traci Oppelt of Webster Groves, Mo., and Tiffany Reiman of Bland, Mo.; four sons, Elmer "Tim" Oppelt III of Webster Groves, Tyler Oppelt and Tommy Oppelt, both of Henderson, and Troy Oppelt of Salem, Mo.; two sisters, Pamela Mitchell of Ballwin, Mo., and Patricia Barth of Las Vegas; two brothers, Michael Barth of Oxnard, Calif., and Kenneth Barth of San Diego; and 10 grandchildren.

Isabel C. Perla, 45, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1955, in San Miguel, El Salvador. A resident for seven years, she was a Monte Carlo hotel housekeeper since its opening.

She is survived by her husband, Regino; one daughter, Maria Perla of Las Vegas; two sons, Ricardo Perla and Carlos Antonio Perla, both of Irving, Texas; her mother, Ana Del Carmen Perla of Las Vegas; two brothers, Carlos A. Perla of Las Vegas and Jose Antonio Perla of Washington, D.C.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Charles 'Paul' Phillips

Charles "Paul" Phillips, 71, of Bullhead City, Ariz., died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for seven years, he was a retired gasoline station owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Lou; five daughters, Ruby Phillips-Shields of Las Vegas, Kaleen Yancer of Harrison, Mich., Cheryl Nerring of Swartz Creek, Mich., Linda Van Pelton of Flint, Mich., and Judy Masselli of Gladwin, Mich.; three sons, Max Barney of Las Vegas, Robert Phillips of Swartz Creek and David Phillips of Michigan; two sisters, Marguerite Robinson of Monroe, Mich., and Shirley Bomia of Maybee, Mich.; Mich.; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jon P. Reppeteaux, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 13, 1948, in Washington state. A resident for 11 years, he was a supervisor at Realty Management.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; two daughters, Danielle Reppeteaux and Lesley Reppeteaux, both of Las Vegas; and his mother, Lucille Reppeteaux of Canada.

Francisco Reyes, 26, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 2, 1973, in Mexico. A resident for five years, he was a pipe layer in the construction industry.

He is survived by three sisters, Theresa Avila of El Paso, Texas, Eustolia Reyes of Mexico and Mercedes Reyes of Upland, Calif.; and three brothers, Filberto Reyes of Upland, and Jose Reyes and Luis Reyes, both of Las Vegas.

Jean Rinaldi-Kimmelman

Jean Rinaldi-Kimmelman, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 21, 1926, in Owensboro, Ky. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired cocktail waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; one son, Brian Rinaldi, and one daughter, Susan Rinaldi, both of Las Vegas; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday, noon-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Raymond Martin Scherer, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 15, 1939, in Illinois. A resident for five years, he was a restaurateur.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his mother, Emma Scherer of Las Vegas; and one brother, Ludwig Scherer of Tempe, Ariz.

Rose Stoynoff-Rosales

Rose Stoynoff-Rosales, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, she was retired and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Rose Sullivan of Las Vegas; three sisters, Francis Popovich, Helen Fawcett and Marjorie McNeal, all of Henderson; and three brothers, Michael Stoynoff of Villa Park, Ill., James Stoynoff of Lansing, Ill., and Peter Stoynoff of Crete, Ill.

Charles H. Taylor

Charles H. Taylor, 79, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Iowa. A resident for 49 years, he was a retail salesman and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Julia; and two sons, Robert Allen Holton of Las Vegas and Dennis Neil Taylor of Bakersfield, Calif.

DeNage May Walker

DeNage May Walker, 52, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 7, 1947, in Japan. A recent resident to Las Vegas, she was an engineer/technician for the federal government.

She is survived by her husband, Roger of Maryland; her mother, DeNage Mae Bilz of Las Vegas; her father, Alden Bushnell of Washington state; and one sister, Colette Burton of Florida.

Alvin P. Western

Alvin P. Western, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Pomerene, Ariz. A resident for 34 years, he was a sheet metal mechanic for the federal government for 40 years and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joean; one daughter, Lynn Western of Las Vegas; one son, Donald Western of Pahrump; one brother, Cecil Western of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Martha Johnson and Lois Smith, both of Arizona; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the LDS chapel, 4040 E. Wyoming Ave. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Irving Whitehouse Jr.

Irving Whitehouse Jr., 73, of Nevada died Monday in Boulder City. He was born Jan. 26, 1927, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 10 years, he was an industrial designer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lee F.; one son, James W. Whitehouse; and one daughter, Virginia Lee Seals.
