More seeding project are scheduled this fall.
"We will continue the work begun in 1999 and focus on long-term funding and restoration," said Clinton Oke of the Elko BLM field office.
So far, 5.3 million pounds of seed have been used in the massive effort. About 372,000 acres were seeded from the air, while about 98,000 acres were drill seeded, according to a report Oke presented last week to Nevada's Legislative Committee on Public Lands.
BLM also reported repairs to 200 miles of fencing, reconstruction of 329 miles of fence and 320 miles of new fencing.
