StumbleCommissioners choose three possible sites for new detention facility

County staffers picked land across the street from the county jail on Parr Boulevard as the preferred choice.
Second was 17 acres on North Hills Boulevard in Golden Valley. The third site is at West Parr Boulevard and North Virginia Street.
Commissioners on Tuesday agreed to hold public meetings before making a final selection.
The new facility would replace the 50-year-old Wittenberg Hall. It would be built with 108 beds initially but designed to allow an additional 38 beds in the future.
