MGM Grand Hotel Inc. is seeking an injunction to stop two Internet casino operators from using its trademark and domain name to advertise their online gaming services.
In a U.S. District Court suit, MGM Grand, which owns the domain name "mgmgrand.com," allege Netcom Distributors, a company organized under the laws of India and its U.S. agent, Business Internet Connection, infringed its trademark by using their "mgmgrandcasino.com" domain name to operate an Internet casino.
The suit said the defendants refused to stop using MGM Grand's trademark or transfer their domain name to the hotel-casino and "merely placed on their website a notice disclaiming affiliation" with MGM Grand.
The defendants could not be reached for comment.
