UMC offering tea, video tour
University Medical Center is offering a free Victorian tea and video tour for mothers- and fathers-to-be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the UMC Bright Beginnings classroom, 1815 W. Charleston Blvd.
The informal gathering is designed to acquaint parents with the labor and delivery and post-partum services available at the hospital and introduces them to the variety of free parenting classes offered through UMC's Bright Beginnings program.

Estate Planning Day will be held June 8
The Arthritis Foundation will provide free financial, legal and medical advice 8 a.m.-2 p.m. June 8 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson.
The annual Estate Planning Day will feature speakers, such as estate and financial planning experts, rheumatologists and physical and occupational therapists.
Roundtable discussions will feature topics including "Elder Law, Social Security & Medicare," "Estate Planning for the Single Person" and "Ask the Doctor."

Nurses sought to discuss experiences
The Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno, is looking for World War II nurses who served in the Pacific or European theater to discuss their experiences at the Great Basin Book Festival.
Sponsored by the Nevada Humanities Committee, the Great Basin Book Festival will be held Sept. 29-30. The panel of nurses is scheduled to convene Sept. 29.
Elizabeth Norman will be the featured speaker at the event. Norman is the author of "We Band of Angels: The Untold Story of American Nurses Trapped on Bataan by the Japanese."

Coalition schedules annual luncheon
The Southern Nevada Coalition of Concerned Women will host its fourth annual luncheon beginning 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the MGM Grand.
SNCCW's focus is "Year of Community Involvement," with a luncheon theme of "Building Communities through Commitment and Service."
In conjunction with the luncheon, SNCCW provides a monetary award to a business or organization based upon its service to the community. SNCCW is an organization for women who share a concern for the political, educational, legal, financial and social problems associated with the growth in their communities, and who are willing to work together to make a difference.

Grand opening set in Henderson
Opportunity Village, Nevada's largest charitable organization for people with mental retardation, will hold a grand opening of the Walters Family Campus in Henderson at 4 p.m. Thursday.
The new facility, which was occupied in early April by about 75 workers with disabilities and staff members, is located at 451 E. Lake Mead Drive.
The building will house assembly, packaging and collating operations for various local and national companies, with all work performed by people with disabilities.
Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 15 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, May 17 - 23:
