Letter: Animals need to be rescued

Thank you for printing the story of Bobby Berosini and his long overdue payment to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. I lived in Las Vegas for 22 years and am sadly familiar with the "entertainer's" methods of controlling his animals. Bobby Berosini for far too long has gotten away with mistreating these wonderful animals. I remember vividly the looks on their faces and their frightened demeanor as Berosini punched, shook and pummeled them with a metal stick. They cowered, they shook, and they never took their pleading eyes off of him -- rightfully fearing that his fists would be flying their way.
In lieu of payment, for years PETA has urged Berosini to instead turn over the abused animals to live the remainder of their lives in a natural, sanctuary environment rather than metal cages in a Las Vegas back yard. There is still time -- that is what should be done now.
