West Regional next for UNLV golf team

The eighth-ranked UNLV golf team will make its 12th consecutive appearance at the NCAA West Golf Regional Championships May 18-20. The 54-hole tournament will be hosted by Fresno State at the River Bend Golf Club in Madera, Calif.
A field of 27 teams and six individuals will compete for the NCAA West Regional title on the par-72, 6,966-yard course.
At least eight teams from the regional as well as the two lowest-scoring individuals whose teams do not qualify will advance to the 2000 NCAA Championships in Opelika, Ala., held May 31 to June 3.
UNLV's lineup for the NCAA West Regional will be seventh-ranked Jeremy Anderson, 17th-ranked Michael Kirk, 79th-ranked Scott Lander, Calvin Kupeyan and Robert Sul.
