Letter: Military’s woes not about gender

In fact, the reason recruitment and retention are problems challenging our military has little to do with gender. The armed forces are recruiting potential applicants amidst a booming economy and a strong job market.
Without female recruits willing to take on the challenges of combat training, a far more serious recruitment crisis would exist.
