MASH to open homeless clinic
Wednesday, May 10, 2000 | 9:50 a.m.
Using volunteer doctors and grants, MASH Village will open its primary care medical clinic Thursday to offer health care to the homeless.
The free clinic, at 1579 N. Main St., is expecting 10,000 patient visits this year. By providing services for day-to-day illnesses and conditions, the clinic is expected to reduce costs of emergency room treatments.
UNLV's student and staff research projects will study homeless health care issues, including the impact on the public emergency departments to problems that arise for seniors.
