Gambling convention opens two-day run on coast

The convention began Wednesday.
The summit is a trade exhibit, convention and continuing-education seminar.
There were some changes to the lineup of speakers.
Robert Baldwin, the No. 2 man at Mirage Resorts under chairman Steve Wynn, will speak Thursday in place of MGM Grand President Jim Murren. After the completion of Mirage's sale to MGM Grand, Baldwin will run the new company's Mirage division, including the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi.
Peter Carlino, chief executive officer of Penn National Gaming, was added to Wednesday's lineup, which includes Atlantic City Mayor Jim Whelan.
Carlino's company is buying Boomtown Casino in Biloxi and Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis.
