Officials dismissed amid turmoil

Two veteran officials of the Las Vegas Police union have been dismissed and four others have resigned in the wake of an effort to oust union President Andy Anderson.
The union's board of directors voted two weeks ago to begin proceedings to remove Anderson. On Thursday, with more members present, the board voted to stop the process.
Anderson and the board then fired Vice President Dan Holley and board member Toby Maldonado. After their removal, four others on the 22-member board resigned.
One of the four, Russell Wood, predicted the turmoil could spark an exodus of officers from the 2,200-member organization.
