11-year-old girl wants to spend time in nature
Saturday, May 6, 2000 | 8:53 a.m.
For an 11-year-old girl who has never spent time outside of Las Vegas, nature is something she only sees in books and on television.
The only trips she has ever been on are school field trips. A week at summer camp would be a real eye opener for her, those around her say.
You can help send girls like this to escape the fast pace of inner-city living for a week by joining recent contributors to the Sun Camp Fund:
Nevada Epsilon Master "In honor of Solange D'Hooghe"; Marilyn McKinney; Joe and Roberta Delaney; Sherman and Barbara Gonce "In memory of Robert Ashton"; Joel and Hilary Katz; Thomas and Revelle Sloan "In memory of Robert Ashton"; Michael and Grace Marker and Rosemon Ellison "In memory of Jesse Ellison"; Community One Federal Credit Union; Shelley Berkley; and Joseph and Marleen Szalay.
