The Strip at LVMS set for busy weekend

The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is set for a full weekend of entertainment that will include a swap meet, car show and plenty of drag racing.
Friday Night Drags will kick off the weekend as The Strip will host local drag racers for testing. High School and Import racers are scheduled to compete in eliminations.
On Saturday evening, The Strip is set to host its first Chevrolet Shootout presented by Fletcher Jones Chevrolet. Chevy owners are invited to compete in an all-Chevrolet trophy elimination bracket. Non-Chevrolet vehicles will compete in a separate bracket.
A swap meet and car show are scheduled to accompany racing activities.
Gates are set to open today at 5 p.m. with racing slated to take place from 6 p.m. to midnight. The entry fee is $15 for car and driver; $10 for competing high school students with a valid student ID; $10 for crew and spectators; and $5 for students, seniors and military.
Gates are scheduled to open Saturday at 4 p.m. Qualifying is set to begin at 5, with eliminations at 7:30. The show and shine is scheduled to run 5-8 p.m. with the swap meet from 5-10 p.m.
Admission Saturday evening is $20 for car and driver, $10 for the swap meet and $15 for the car show. Spectator admission is $10 for adults; $5 for seniors, military and students with ID; and children under 6 are admitted free.
