City information offered online
The city on Wednesday launched its new website after more than eight months in development at a cose of $5,000 to create.
The site has links to the mayor and City Council, departments, employment and business information and is the first of three phases for the site. Future improvements include making information such as permits available and enhancement of services that can only be done online.
The site is located at:

Police radio room to get more air
The North Las Vegas Police Department will be receiving some climate control, with a $42,970 police radio room upgrade project.
The police radio room, which handles all 911 emergency and police dispatch functions for the city, is located in the basement of the city's Public Safety Building.
Because of the numerous computers and radio transmitters, the room requires constant cooling, keeping the building's single air conditioning system running even in the winter.
The project includes installation of an additional air conditioning unit specifically designed for the radio room. It's expected to be done in two months.
The city has purchased 8.25 acres
at Las Vegas Boulevard and Civic Center Drive from College Park Realty for a future City Hall. The land will cost the city $3.2 million.
The council has renewed its contract
with Alcalde & Fay, its lobbyists in Washington, D.C. The city will pay the consultants $9,500 per month for their work in getting the city federal dollars.
