Letter: America needs to wake up

Lee states he is a veteran of the Navy. I am also a World War II veteran. I was a "dog-face" and I fought with the 76th Infantry Division in Europe.

There are so many people worrying about burning the flag, I suppose they don't have time to see what is really happening with the CIA, the IRS, the INS, the FBI, 44 million Americans with no health benefits (and 11 million children with no health plan), millions of Americans sleeping under bridges (half of them mentally ill and many being veterans), HMOs denying senior citizens the medication they need, the WACO disaster, the president donating billions of our dollars to other countries, and American people going hungry.

Vice President Al Gore says he is going to continue doing the same thing as President Clinton. I say "Wake Up America!"
