The first daily nonstop round-trip flights between Mexico and Las Vegas will begin a week after the first nonstop Las Vegas flights from London.
AeroMexico, Mexico's largest airline, will launch flights between Hermosillo and Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport June 15, one week after Virgin Atlantic Airlines begins flying twice a week between Gatwick International Airport in London and Las Vegas.
The Mexican company confirmed flights to Las Vegas in March and officially announced its schedule today.
Las Vegas will become AeroMexico's 11th U.S. gateway. Flights will leave Hermosillo at 10:20 a.m., arriving in Las Vegas at 12:05 p.m., with the return trip leaving Las Vegas at 1:05 and arriving in Hermosillo at 2:45 p.m.
The flight to Hermosillo connects with several flights to other Mexican destinations including Monterrey, Mazatlan and Mexico City.
The airline, which has 300 daily flights, operates a fleet of Boeing 757 and 767 and MD-80 twin-engine jets. It flies to 43 cities in Mexico and 41 cities in the United States, Canada, Europe and South America.
